Bandsaw blade for Record Power
Record Power makes bandsaws for the workshop. The blade length differs per model: the BS250 and the Sabre 250 both use 1790 mm, the larger models other lengths. The table shows the length for each model, the width the machine can take and which of our bandsaw blades we recommend. We make any length to size, from 500 to 12,000 mm.
Which bandsaw blade fits your Record Power?
| Model | Length | Width (machine) | Our bandsaw blade |
|---|---|---|---|
| BS250 | 1790 mm | - | Flexback |
| Sabre 250 | 1790 mm | 6-13 mm | Flexback |
| Sabre 300 | 2420 mm | 6-19 mm | Flexback or Chrome steel |
| BS350 | 2629 mm | - | Flexback or Chrome steel |
| Sabre 350 | 2820 mm | 6-19 mm | Flexback or Chrome steel |
For the BS250 some sources give 1785 mm instead of 1790 mm. If in doubt, measure your old blade or ask us. Width and thickness are in your machine's manual.
Is a BS300 the same as a Sabre 300?
No. The Sabre 300 uses 2420 mm, not the 2240 mm you see on many other machines. Don't simply copy that size for a BS300 or BS300E: go by the full type designation on the rating plate.
Flexback or Chrome steel?
Flexback carbon steel cuts wood, plastic and non-ferrous metals. Chrome steel is made for soft to medium-hard wood such as construction timber and beams; it is less suitable for hardwood.
Width, thickness and tooth pitch
Width. Narrow (6 mm) for curves, wider for straight cuts and resawing thicker wood, up to what your machine can take.
Thickness. The smaller the wheels, the thinner the blade has to be. In our count over the past six months, 6 mm and 10 mm wide at 0.36 mm thick were ordered most often in 1790 mm, five times each; those orders are not linked to a brand. Follow your machine's manual.
Tooth pitch. A coarse tooth pitch for wood, a finer one for thin material. Which tooth pitch suits which thickness is explained in choosing the tooth pitch.
